_God Hates_ Reviewed in the American Journal of Sociology

Thanks to the American Journal of Sociology and reviewer Bernadette Barton of Morehead State University for reviewing God Hates: Westboro Baptist Church, American Nationalism, and the Religious Right this month. I love both Pray the Gay Away: The Secret Lives of Bible Belt Gays and Stripped: Inside the Lives of Exotic Dancers (which is on my soc of sex syllabus for the summer!), so it was really an honor to hear her feedback on my own work. My highlight:

“…WBC serves the same homophobic political and religious aims of the Religious Right, even as neither conservative Christians nor the WBC would actively align themselves with one another. Barrett-Fox makes clear that, of the two, she finds the Religious Right far more dangerous, and I concur.”
